My only concern is if WF treats someone even more poorly than before in retalliation. LOL

Have they gotten any more hard nosed when you needed them to cut you some slack by removing a questionable fee, or disputing a charge?

Brian,

Hey buddy I love your financial section. Jennelle and I love IngDirect. We've been using it for a few years and love seeing our 4-5% returns, still small, but hey it beats Wells Fargo :) Take Care

Brian, that is really nice of you to share that information. I feel like no matter now much I try to read and learn about investing or money stuff, I am clueless. I am definitely interested, so please email me the member referral. Thanks.

I'm also a fan of Wells Fargo + ING Direct. I've also heard that HSBC has similar rates but haven't tried it.

You may want to check out http://bankdeals.blogspot.com/. The website list many of the banking deals that you can get in around the nation. Money Market Accounts are offering interest rates of ~ 5.3% and offer the same functionality (transfers, withdraws, etc) of the ING savings account. You hit the nail on the head when you realized that a traditional savings account is not the way to go to store money. They don't even beat inflation which is approx. 3%. It will be interesting to see how a potential federal interest rate cut (next Tuesday) could change high yield accounts.

I thought about Nate when I wrote that but I knew he'd give the same suggestion. He's loyal to Wells Fargo...but even more loyal to making money. And golfing. And Halo.

I am telling Nathan on you. You just said Wells Fargo sucks. (Kidding, Nate would be the first to tell you W.F. isn't the best for savings.)
