Just stumbled upon your blog via a list of Mormon bloggers. Your photography is amazing, and I enjoy the topics of your posts.

Great quotation by Boyd K. Packer. “Wise” and “Patient” are two of the most important traits in Fatherhood. Think of God as our Father. What traits come to mind first? Certainly wise and patient would be among anyone’s top ten. Along with loving, understanding, and merciful. Disciplinarian? I don’t think that would be in anyone’s top ten descriptors of God (At least not anyone with a similar worldview as mine). Too often we focus on discipline at the expense of love. As parents, we understand that the two are not mutually exclusive; but, children don’t see it that way. For this reason we must be extremely careful.

Your post has helped me re-commit to be a wise and loving father. Fathers should feel the excitement of their children (like you express) constantly–and not just when they are newborns. More importantly, they should also remember the sacredness of this stewardship.

Your exclamtion point at the end made smile! I think that is the first I have seen it in your writings. I know without a doubt in my mind you are going to be an amazing Dad. (These 7 weeks may seem forever to you, but they mean forever x forever to Candace. Of course that doesn’t make sense, but you get my point).

I also read that whenever you have to discipline a child the father must work 2x as hard immediately following to show the child that you love them.
I have sooo much fun coming home from work and being able to play and wrestle and run around the house. you’re gonna LOVE it.
