"Did someone call me from this number" is most likely the most ridiculous question to ever travel the telephone networks, and the last thing I want to hear when I put the phone to my ear. If someone did call from my phone, and didn't leave a message, it obviously wasn't that important, was it? Maybe it was even a wrong number, and I caught myself. Who is so utterly pretentious that they think every call they get is urgent, and that every caller is hoping they will call back? Or that it's okay to waste my time calling me to start up some small talk over the fact that neither of us know who the hell the other guy is, and that there was an obvious mistake somewhere. If I didn't leave a message, and he doesn't know my number, what makes him think I want to talk to him about it? I hate that.
