The bit on the lack of respect rings true for me. Along similar lines are presentations and talks. I'm especially annoyed when the first speaker takes like 45 minutes (when they were assigned 15 minutes) and leaves 10 minutes for the keynote speaker (who everyone wanted to hear more than the first speaker).
