I loved hip hop/rap/r&b in high school, but now, not only am I tired of Utah playing the same 5 songs on the radio all day, I am tired of the same "new" rap songs. Every couple months there will be one new song that has a good beat that I could dance to, but it gets old fast. I am tired of all the same boring songs on the radio and all my CD's with the good old school songs and "artists" were stolen so I can't even result to that. I either listen to really old songs (like ones my parents like) on the radio or push seek for an hour in my car. Music used to be a huge part of my life (I may have "worshiped" my CD's too much and that's why they were taken from me). I used to know everything about all the new and old music, but now I don't care. I still love music, but I don't know what to listen to and I am sad. I even started listening to groups like Disturbed and Smile Empty Soul because I didn't know where to turn. I will never turn to music by Britney Spears or those "boy bands."

It is interesting how music has changed. It has gone away from the pure talent that it used to be to more of showing off and vainness. It is great that you can create your own genre put it in your IPOD and disappear into your own bubble of good music. Those tell tale ear buds stating, "don't bother me." I have never given a name to my own genre but i like the idea! Thanks for those gems. Its always good to hear something new.

As a fellow music lover, I appreciate all your gemmed blogs. Keep them coming. For me, right now part of my smooth groove collection is "New Slang" by the Shins and "Solsbury Hill" by Peter Gabriel.
