The biggest scam is that there are huge gaps in the music catalog that Napster offers, and when you pay $15/month you don't gain access to all of it. Some of the music is only available for-pay. I don't think they guarantee anything by contract, so this could turn out the same way as cable TV, and 5 years down the road the only stuff you get for the cost of the basic subscription is the stuff nobody else wants. Honestly, I still think CD is the best way to go. http://www.deepdiscountcd.com rocks!

you people are missing the obvious scam. have someone in VT send and receive all the requests! hahaha now it's down to half price or $11k. oh wait, that's still more than $10k. nevermind.

BTW, it says 1 in 3 wins, but that doesn't mean if you buy 3 pepsis, you'll guarantee getting one winner.

Actually the math is wrong. It's 30,000 * .37 * 2 (2 stamps per entry)...

That comes out to $22,200... So it's cheaper to just buy songs one by one...

Of corse one thing napster did leave out, songs tend to cost less than $.99 each if you buy them as full CDs...

of course, since a stamp costs $.37, and two are needed to get a game piece (one to send your letter, one for the self-addressed letter that goes comes back to you) it would cost approximately .37*30,000 (each game piece has a 1 in 3 chance of being a winner) or $11,100 to fill up your iPod. now that the math is done, perhaps a third, even less expensive option should be considered. download a p2p client, get a broadband account, and fill up your ipod with music that's owned for $38/month. (computer sold seperately). but, that would be illegal.

Well... the only problem is that 37 cents each way = 74 cents total. So they really wouldn't be free this way - much easier to scam the caps from your non-iPod enabled friends....

The Napster promotion sucks...... $15 x 12 mos = $180/yr FOREVER!
